When you install Amelia, the default 09:00 - 17:00 working hours are applied through Settings/Working Hours & Days Off settings. Each new employee you create will be assigned those working hours.

You can, however, create a custom schedule per employee so, for example, Employee 1 can work from Monday - Friday from 08:00 - 14:00; Employee 2 can work from Monday - Friday from 14:00 - 20:00, and Employee 3 can work from Monday - Friday from 20:00 - 23:00.

It goes further than that, you can play around with employees' work hours. Access the employee's profile and in Work Hours, you can set up so Employee 1 works on Service 1 from 08:00 - 10:00, then on Service 2 from 10:00 - 12:00, then on Service 1 again from 12:00 - 13:00, and then on Service 3 from 13:00 - 16:00. That can be only on Monday. On Tuesday, he could work on Service 1 from 08:00 - 12:00, but on Location 2. Then, give him time to reach Location 1 and set a new working period from 13:00 - 16:00. (This is, of course, possible only if you configure multiple locations in Amelia/Locations section)

When you create work hours (let's say we keep the default ones, from 09:00 - 17:00), you can also add breaks. To do that, click on the + symbol next to the name of the day of the week, and add a break in this period of time (for example, from 12:00 - 13:00).

Please note:

  • At the moment, employees' work hours can't go past midnight, but you will be able to create working periods from (for example) 22:00 - 02:00. The way to do that is to create work hours until midnight, and then on the next day create work hours from midnight.
  • If you have multiple locations configured, each employee needs to be assigned to a default location, but you can change the location when you're creating the work hours for the employee (example 2 in the section above). An employee can be assigned to multiple locations only through the Working Hours, by selecting multiple locations when creating the working periods. Please note that, once an employee is booked at one location, all other assigned locations will be blocked during this time.
